Rainforest

Rainforests are dense forests that are characterized by high rainfall, hot and humid climate, and an abundance of tall trees. They are home to a wide variety of plants and animals, many of which are found nowhere else in the world.

Rainforests play a critical role in regulating the Earth’s climate and are often referred to as the “lungs of the planet” due to their capacity to absorb and store carbon dioxide. Unfortunately, rainforests are under threat from deforestation, which contributes to climate change, loss of biodiversity, and displacement of indigenous peoples who rely on the forest for their livelihoods. Conservation efforts are underway to protect and restore these unique and valuable ecosystems.
